If Dennis Rodman was still in his prime, can he stop Lebron?nba draft prospects
I don't think Rodman, or anyone else could stop LeBron James right now. The fact is, LeBron is far from his prime, he's only 22. He should reach his prime in about 5 years from now. So in my opinion, if nobody past or present, can stop this guy, then when he is in his prime he should have developed into the greatest player to have ever touched a basketball. Bill Russell in his prime could not stop him, nor can Bowen, Rodman, nobody, they can only try to contain him.
If Dennis Rodman was still in his prime, can he stop Lebron?nba 2k ,nba teams
Im pretty sure Rodman in his prime can contain the current LeBron right now, since I haven't seen LeBron in his "peak" yet. I imagine, even if LeBron make jump shots, Rodman can either block it or get the rebound anyway. Anyway, regarding Shaq and Rodman... Rodman CAN contain Shaq (1996 nba)... Report It
I think what needs to be discussed is the art of defense vs LeBron.
Defense is more psychological than physical.
What Rodman or Bruce Bowen might try over physicality is to take LeBron mentally out of his game. Report It
The defender may encourage LeBron, Jordan, or anyone else to shoot more, thus eliminating teammates (that is what Bill Russell did to Chamberlain). Report It
The Pistons did try this in the last series, and it backfired with the performance of Boobie Gibson! So, sometimes it works, but if the supporting cast shows, watch out!! Report It
You cannot stop people like LeBron, Jordan, or Chamberlain, so the goal should be to HOLD them under their playoff averages.
I think most good defenders are SUCCESSFUL if they can hold a star 5 to 10 points under their average. Report It
i don't think rodman, can guard lebron, even though their stats are almost the same.. rodman became the defensive player bcoz he can block shots and grab rebounds, the other type of defense is what is bruce bowen is doing. Report It
The Worm will have a tough time guarding The King but I know The King can adjust for him to be able to make those plays in order for his team to win.
Rodman was great at stopping guys driving to the basket and trying to score. James likes to shoot outside and when he drives he tends to dish the ball. He would affect his game, but I think James would still have the better of it.
Rodman was king of blocks... so Rodman's defense would probably prove too much for anyone who isn't a power forward or center. Rodman can beat Jordan 1 on 1. But Shaq in his prime vs Rodman? Or Bill Russell in his prime vs Rodman? I haven't a clue. Shaq probably just dunk on Rodman every single time. So it does depend on a style of play. Rodman is like the guard, small forward, and the "small center" killer. Where as Shaq, the "power center" if I can call it that, is like the PF and "SC (small center)" Killer. And Wilt and David Robinson (the "EPFC (Extra Power Forward Center)" in their prime are the "PC (power center)" killer. And Rodman can probably beat Wilt and Robinson... Go figure.
Try Bruce Bowen 1st.
